This plan is primarily focussed on the Town of Smithers and the fire protection area (8 km from fire hall).
The plan will assess fire hazards, assets at potential risk, and possible mitigation.
Tyhee Forestry Consultants Ltd. has the contract to prepare the plan.
Public comments are welcome.
Maps and the draft plan will be made available in coming weeks.
