The following are some of the plans, proposals and Crown Land applications that were originally posted on Valley Vision and which appear to have ongoing public interest. All Valley Vision news items are stored in the News Archive.
Smithers Official Community Plan 2010
Status: Bylaw No. 1614 – Town of Smithers Official Community Plan was adopted by Council on April 13, 2010.

2010 Approval of 2008 Application for Seymour Ridge Road
Status: Decision to grant Land Act tenure made by ILMB on March 2, 2010. Offered on March 5, 2010. Decision Rationale posted. April 13 objection by Smithers Community Forest Society rejected as untimely April 23, 2010.

2010 partial approval to 2009 Crown Land Application for Agriculture near Telkwa River – Lots 223 and 224
Status: In an April 28, 2010 decision, ILMB disallowed the lot 225 portion of the application (adjacent Telkwa River). The portion within lot 223 was accepted and the ILMB website indicates an offer was made May 10, 2010.
Ski Area Master Plan – Ski and Ride Smithers
On May 2, 2008, the company received provincial government approval of their resort development proposal in the form of a Ski Area Master Plan.
A copy of the approved plan is available on the government’s Resort Development Branch webpage of approved resort plans.
Application for Licence of Occupation for a New Chairlift and Ski Trail to Town
In response to Ski & Ride Smithers application, the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts made an offer on September 26, 2008. Application maps and the reasons for decisions can be viewed on the Integrated Land Management Bureau’s Applications and Reasons for Decision website under file #6407939

Purpose and other information: Application for a Crown Grant for extension of holdings for extensive agricultural purposes. Subject parcel is within the Integrated Resource Management Zone of the Bulkley LRMP.
