Valley Vision | towards a comprehensive vision for the future of the Bulkley Valley

BV MapChat Technical Support Group

Who are they?

The Bulkley Valley MapChat Technical Support Group is an adhoc group of individuals with interest and expertise in mapping and computers and a willingness to share that expertise with the local community of MapChat users.

Why are they involved in planning?

By adding a spatial dimension to public discussions, MapChat is viewed locally as being the best way to support community-led mapping and planning.
The organizations interested in MapChat tend to lack the technical ability to host it, to train people in its use, and to manage the data collected. Hence the need for a local pool of people who can do these things.

What do they consider?

The BV MapChat Tech Support Group is willing to support all potential clients, without being attached specifically to one project or another.

Where do they have jurisdiction?

The group has no jurisdiction in planning matters. The offer support as volunteers and occasionally on a cost-recovery basis.

When are they involved in planning?

If and when requested by community groups.

How are decisions made?

The decision of whether to help is made by individual group members.

Current Plans and Projects
