Proposed Shelter near Silvern Lakes Trailhead

Wetzin’kwa Community Forest is applying for a 10 year Licence of Occupation for the construction of a small 20 × 30 foot roofed shelter near the start of the Silvern Lakes trail.

The proposed structure would be an open log post and beam roofed structure providing some shelter from the elements. The structure would highlight and enhance traditional First Nations use of the area and would be available for use at any time throughout the year.

The Ministry of Natural Resource Operations is inviting comments about the application. Their file number for this application is 6408356. Information about Crown land applications is typically available on the BC government’s Applications and Reasons for Decision website. As of April 19, 2011, nothing was posted at that site but might be posted soon.
