Rezoning Applications Morgan Rd & Slack Rd
The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako is holding a public hearing on regarding rezoning applications on Morgan Road and Snake Road.

The Smithers Telkwa Rural Official Community Plan Bylaw and the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Zoning Bylwaw 700, 1993 are proposed to be amended to redesignate the following properties:
495 Morgan Road (6:30 pm public hearing)
Proposed Bylaw 1549 would affect Lot 2, Section 31, Township 5, Plan PRP47615 Range 5 Coast District, approximately 4.5 km south of Smithers:
- The advertised purpose of the amendment is to allow a subdivision of the property into two 4 ha lots.
- Currently, the subject property is one of 14 lots on Morgan Road zoned as Large Holdings (H2) which has a minimum lot size of 8 ha (~20 acres). The official community plan (OCP) designates the area as Resource (RE).
- The proposal would amend the OCP for this one lot to Rural Residential and the zoning to Small Holdings (H1) which would allow a minimum lot size of 2 ha (~5 acres)
6389 Snake Road (7:00 pm public hearing)
Proposed Bylaw 1570 would affect part of the NE 1/4 Section 7 Township 2A Range 5 Coast District, approximately 2 km northeast of Smithers:
- The advertised purpose of the amendment is to allow a boundary adjustment between two properties and allow the creation of a 9.7 ha lot.
- Currently, the subject property and surrounding properties are zoned as Agricultural (Ag1) which has a minimum lot size of 16 ha (~40 acres). The official community plan (OCP) designates the area as Agricultural.
- The proposal would amend the OCP for this 9.7 ha lot to Resource in the OCP and the zoning to Large Holdings (H1) which would allow a minimum lot size of 8 ha (~20 acres).
Persons who believe that their interest in property is affected will have an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing. Written submissions sent by email (inquiries@rdbn.bc.ca) or fax (250-692-1220) must be received by the Regional District by 1:00 pm April 14, 2010.
