Interface Conference

Interface 2010

Dr. Ray Chipeniuk, adjunct professor with UNBC School of Environmental Planning, in collaboration with Bulkley Valley Centre for Natural Resources Research & Management has organized a conference and workshops on Planning for the Crown-Settlement Interface Lands that will take place in Smithers June 16-18, 2010.

Link to Interface Website Early-bird rates are in effect until May 31.

The principal objective of this event is to provide the occasion for a major learning experience concerning planning for the Crown-settlement lands interface. Enabling that experience will be, first, presentations by top-rank academic researchers and practitioners; and second, workshops on a spectrum of interface planning domains. Nearly as influential in the thinking of the organizers is the hope that Interface will initiate developments leading to real progress in interface planning in British Columbia, and especially in the Bulkley Valley.

Only $45 to register for Day 3 workshop. Includes lunch.

NEW: Registration for only Day 1 – $175

Valley Vision is collaborating with the conference by hosting an Interface Planning Casebook which describes concrete cases of planning in the Interface. Currently, case files are being contributed by participants of the Interface conference but anyone can view and comment on the cases. Link to Casebook instructions on the Interface website.
