People and the Economy
If you are interested in the people and economy of an area covered by a recent plan (such as the Morice LRMP) the plan text and maps will often be an excellent source of relevant information. Check out Who’s Planning in the Quick Links column on the right to navigate to a plan.
The internet offers many sources and types of statistics on populations and the economy. If you know of any other good information sources applicable to land-use planning in the Bulkley Valley, please tell us using this page’s comment form.
- www.CivicInfo.bc.ca offers BC Municipalities numerous reports from their Surveys and Statistics page
- BC Statistics — the central statistical agency of the Province of British Columbia.
Example data: Click on this link for Population Projections then browse to Sub-Provincial Population Projections and select School Districts. School District 54 covers most of the Bulkley Valley but not the Hazeltons.
- Atlas of Canada – Quality of Life
This online series of interactive maps describes how well people feel about their economic, social and physical environments. The image below is a zoomed in portion of the combined Overall Quality of Life map.
